Brief Introduction

Portrait of Laura Balbi

I am a first-year PhD student researcher at LiSeDa, the Lisbon Semantic Data Lab, within the LASIGE Research Unit at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon.

My current work investigates the implications of knowledge graphs that include contradictions and ambiguous entity representations, and explores knowledge graph representation learning (KGRL) approaches that model these phenomena explicitly.

Recently, I integrated the EU-funded project KATY (Knowledge At the Tip of Your fingers), contributing to a clinical knowledge graph that links kidney cancer patient data with multi-domain biomedical knowledge to support AI-driven prediction tasks for drug development and personalized medicine.
